Sexual Harassment
Title VII of the Civil Rights Act also protects against two types of sexual harassment at work. First, where an employer creates a "hostile environment" by subjecting an employee to unwelcome verbal abuse, physical touching or physical abuse, and second, "quid pro quo" harassment where a supervisor conditions job advancement, hiring, firing, job assignment etc. on the performance of a sexual favor or demand.
